WILLIAM "BILLY" STOLBERG

William D. “Billy” Stolberg is president and COO of AAEQ Manufacturers and Recyclers, a comprehensive company that provides leadership in the automotive remanufacturing, manufacturing and recycling industries. Started by Stolberg’s father and uncle, the company began business in Chicago in 1949 as A&A Midwest. It continues to be one of the leading suppliers of automotive engine and transmission cores and recyclers of scrap metal. The privately held company continues to operate in Chicago and North Las Vegas.

Stolberg graduated from the University of Iowa in 1986 with a B.B.A. degree in finance. After completing his studies, he worked at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) as a clerk. He later traded on the CME, before joining the family business in 1989 in Chicago. He literally started at the bottom at AA Midwest, learning all phases of the automotive engine and transmission cores business from his father, Aaron. He became the company’s warehouse manager in 1990 and later took over the entire Chicago operations.

Stolberg jointly operates the company with his brother, Scott, president and CEO, who heads the company’s headquarters in North Las Vegas.

Stolberg is married, and active in the lives of his three children. In addition, he devotes time to his hobbies of golf, skiing, and cars.

AAEQ is a member of many automotive and recycling associations, including the Production Engine Remanufacturing Association (PERA), Automotive Engine Builders Association (AERA), Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA), Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA), and Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI).
